Do the Three Branches Have Too Much, Too Little, or the Right Amount of Power?

The foundation of our government is based on the idea of the three equal, but separate, branches of government. For years there was always a push and pull between the different branches, but there seemed to be little question of what the overall approach subscribed by the Founding Fathers meant. However, more recently the Judicial Branch has been forging a new path and giving more power to the Executive. At the same time the Legislative branch has not done much to push back on this apparent building imbalance.

When asked about the levels of power each branch holds, the American public generally feels that the Judiciary and Legislative branches have the right amount of power. At the same time a majority believes the Executive has too much power.
